About these subject-verb agreement worksheets
A singular subject takes a singular verb (the dog barks) and a plural subject takes a plural verb (the dogs bark). These worksheets practise the basics and the traps: each and everyone, collective nouns like team, neither…nor, and subjects separated from their verb by a phrase.
What the worksheet covers

Frequently asked questions
Is “the team is” or “the team are” correct?
Both are heard. In American English, collective nouns usually take a singular verb (the team is). British English often allows either. The answer key uses the singular.
Will every worksheet be the same?
No. Each tap of “New worksheet” picks a different mix of questions from the topic’s question bank, so you can give different versions to different students.
Is there an answer key?
Yes. Every worksheet ends with an answer key on its own page. Switch it off if you’re giving the sheet as a test.
Can I print it in black and white?
Yes. The worksheet uses light tints that print clearly in grey, or pick the grey colour theme.
What age is this worksheet for?
Grades 3–7 (ages 8–13). The questions use plain language and avoid trick wording.
