Frequently asked questions
Which file types are supported?
Excel .xlsx, .xlsm and older .xls files, OpenDocument .ods, and CSV/TSV text files. Saving is done as .xlsx, CSV, JSON or PDF.
Do formulas keep working?
Yes. Formulas are kept in .xlsx files and recalculate when you open the file in Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice. Conversions to CSV, JSON and PDF use the calculated values.
Are my spreadsheets uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
How big can files be?
Up to 50 MB for conversions, merging and splitting, and up to 25 MB for the editor. Very large sheets are easier to handle with Split Excel first.
