About the word search generator
Type this week’s spelling words, vocabulary from a science unit or the names of everyone in the class, and the generator hides them in a grid of letters. Easy puzzles run across and down only; medium adds diagonals; hard runs in all eight directions, including backwards.
Twelve ready-made themes (animals, fruits, school, weather, festivals and more) are included if you need a quick sheet.
Tips for a good word search
- 10–15 words suit a 15 × 15 grid; 6–10 suit 10 × 10.
- Use lowercase letters for early readers.
- Words longer than the grid are left out and listed under the puzzle.
- For a party or holiday, use a theme list and switch on a colour.
