About these adjectives worksheets
Adjectives describe nouns: a tall giraffe, a sweet mango, three little puppies. These worksheets practise finding adjectives, adding them to make writing more vivid, and comparing with comparatives (taller) and superlatives (tallest), including the irregular good–better–best and bad–worse–worst.
What the worksheet covers
The question bank for this topic has 10 find-the-word sentences, 6 choose-the-right-word sentences, 4 multiple-choice questions and 6 fill-in-the-blank sentences. Each worksheet mixes a selection, so no two are the same.
- Question types: fill in the blanks, multiple choice, circle the words, choose the right word.
- Best for: grades 1–5 (ages 6–11).
Teaching tips
- Play “describe it”: one student names an object, the class adds adjectives.
- Ban “nice” and “good” for a week and collect better adjectives.

Frequently asked questions
When do I use “more” instead of “-er”?
Short adjectives add -er and -est (fast, faster, fastest). Most adjectives of three or more syllables use more and most (more beautiful, most beautiful).
Can I choose the kinds of questions?
Yes. Switch each section on or off (matching, fill in the blanks, true or false, multiple choice and more) and choose how many questions go in each.
What age is this worksheet for?
Grades 1–5 (ages 6–11). The questions use plain language and avoid trick wording.
Can I print it in black and white?
Yes. The worksheet uses light tints that print clearly in grey, or pick the grey colour theme.
Is there an answer key?
Yes. Every worksheet ends with an answer key on its own page. Switch it off if you’re giving the sheet as a test.
