About the line tracing worksheets

Each row gives the pencil a reason to travel: help the bee to the flower, the rabbit to the carrot, the rocket to the moon. Lines get trickier from straight to wavy, zigzag, bumpy and looping, building the control children need before letters.

Frequently asked questions

When are children ready for line tracing?

Usually from about age 3, once they can hold a crayon and make marks on purpose.

Is the line tracing worksheets free?

Yes, with no signup or watermark. Everything is made in your browser.

Which handwriting style is used?

A simple, unjoined school print with a single-storey a and g, close to the styles used in most early-years classrooms.

Can I make the letters bigger?

Yes. Choose large, medium or small writing. Large suits ages 3–5; small suits children who already write on lined paper.

Should I print in colour?

Colour isn’t needed. The guide lines are light pink and the tracing dots are grey, which both print clearly in black and white.
