Find the real price in a sale

Enter the original price and the discount to see what you’ll pay and how much you save. Add an extra discount for offers that stack, like “40% off + extra 10% with bank card” during festive sales on Amazon, Flipkart and Myntra.

A sale price calculator and percent off calculator, also a double discount calculator for stacked offers.

Why 40% + 10% isn’t 50%

The extra discount applies to the already reduced price, so the discounts multiply:

  • ₹1,000 with 40% off = ₹600
  • Extra 10% off ₹600 = ₹60 more off, so you pay ₹540

That’s 46% off in total, not 50%. The calculator shows this effective discount so you can compare offers fairly. A flat 45% off would actually be the better deal.

Formula

Final price = price × (1 − d₁ ÷ 100) × (1 − d₂ ÷ 100)

Shopping tips

  • Check the “original” price. Some sellers raise the MRP before a sale. Price-history tools can help.
  • Bank offers often have a cap (for example, 10% up to ₹1,500), so on big purchases the real extra discount can be smaller. Enter the capped amount as a percentage of the reduced price for an exact figure.
  • In India the MRP includes GST, so the final price is what you pay. For business purchases quoted before tax, add GST with the GST calculator.

To work out the discount percentage from two prices, use the percentage calculator’s “percentage change” mode.

Frequently asked questions

Is 40% + 10% the same as 50% off?

No. The extra 10% applies to the already reduced price, so it’s 46% off in total. On ₹1,000 you pay ₹540, not ₹500.

How do I work out a discount percentage from two prices?

Use the percentage calculator’s “percentage change” mode: from the original price to the sale price gives the discount as a negative change.

Does the calculator include GST?

No. In India MRP already includes GST, so the discounted price is what you pay. For prices before tax, use the GST calculator afterwards.

Can I enter a flat amount off?

This calculator works with percentages. For a flat ₹ discount, just subtract it; to see it as a percentage, use the percentage calculator.
