About these missing numbers worksheets
A hundred chart with gaps is one of the most useful counting activities: children fill each gap using the number before it, after it, above it (ten less) or below it (ten more). Choose a chart starting at 1, 101, 201 or 501. The missing number sums option practises missing addends, like 7 + [] = 15.
The answer key shows the completed chart with the missing numbers highlighted.
Settings you can change
Each sheet has 1 questions by default (from 1 to 30), a name, date and score line, and an answer key on a separate page. Best for kindergarten to grade 3 (ages 5–9).
- Type: Hundred chart, Missing number sums.
- Chart starts at: 1, 101, 201, 501.
Teaching tips
- Point out that numbers below are ten more.
- Fill in one row first, then one column.
- Missing number sums are early algebra; read them as “what plus 7 makes 15?”.
New questions every time
The questions are written by rules on your device, not picked from a fixed sheet, so every tap of “New worksheet” gives a different set. Nothing is uploaded. Explore all math worksheets.
Frequently asked questions
How many numbers are missing from the chart?
About a third (35 of 100), spread across the chart.
What is the worksheet code?
Every sheet prints a short code. Typing the same code with the same settings rebuilds exactly the same questions, so you can reprint a sheet later or share the code with another teacher.
Is it really free to print?
Yes. There’s no signup and no limit. The worksheets are generated on your device, and you can use them at home or in class.
Can I make a different missing numbers worksheet for each student?
Yes. Tap “New worksheet” for a fresh set of questions with the same settings. Each sheet has its own answer key, so you can hand out different versions.
Which grades are these worksheets for?
Kindergarten to grade 3 (ages 5–9), depending on the settings you choose. Switch on “Big print” for younger children.
