About these skip counting worksheets
Skip counting is the bridge between counting and multiplication: counting by 5s is the 5 times table. Each row shows a sequence with three numbers missing. Choose the step (2s up to 100s) and whether to count up, down or both.
Sequences start at different multiples each time, so children can’t just recite from zero.
Settings you can change
Each sheet has 10 questions by default (from 4 to 20), a name, date and score line, and an answer key on a separate page. Best for kindergarten to grade 3 (ages 5–9).
- Count by: 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 10s, 25s, 100s.
- Direction: Counting up, Counting down, Both.
Teaching tips
- Count aloud together with claps before writing.
- Use a hundred chart to spot the pattern for 2s, 5s and 10s.
- Link 2s, 5s and 10s to times tables once fluent.
New questions every time
The questions are written by rules on your device, not picked from a fixed sheet, so every tap of “New worksheet” gives a different set. Nothing is uploaded. Explore all math worksheets.
Frequently asked questions
Do sequences always start at zero?
No. They start at a random multiple of the step, which checks real understanding rather than memorised chants.
Which grades are these worksheets for?
Kindergarten to grade 3 (ages 5–9), depending on the settings you choose. Switch on “Big print” for younger children.
Does every worksheet come with an answer key?
Yes. The answers print on a separate page at the end of the PDF. Switch “Answer key” off if you only want the questions.
What is the worksheet code?
Every sheet prints a short code. Typing the same code with the same settings rebuilds exactly the same questions, so you can reprint a sheet later or share the code with another teacher.
Is it really free to print?
Yes. There’s no signup and no limit. The worksheets are generated on your device, and you can use them at home or in class.
