About the number puzzle generator
Sudoku is a logic puzzle that uses numbers but no arithmetic: fill each row, column and box so every number appears once. Small 4 × 4 grids use the numbers 1 to 4 and are perfect for young children; 6 × 6 is a step up; 9 × 9 is the classic puzzle.
Every puzzle is generated on your device and checked to have exactly one solution, so children can solve it by logic alone, without guessing.
How to solve sudoku
- Look for a row, column or box with only one empty square.
- For each empty square, cross out numbers already in its row, column and box.
- When only one number is left, write it in.
- Pencil small “maybe” numbers in the corners on harder puzzles.

Frequently asked questions
How do you make sure there is only one answer?
After removing each number, a solver checks the puzzle still has exactly one solution. If not, the number goes back.
Can I print it in black and white?
Yes. Puzzles use light tints that print clearly in grey, or choose the grey colour theme.
Will I get the same puzzles again?
No. Each tap of “New puzzles” generates a fresh set, and the code at the top of the sheet identifies it.
Is there an answer key?
Yes. Solutions print on a second page, which you can switch off.
