About this seating chart

A seating chart shows where every student sits, which helps substitute teachers, new staff and you in the first weeks. Paste your class list in the order you want them seated, and each desk box fills with a name from the front left.

Keep a copy in the substitute teacher folder.

What’s on the page

  • A header with class, room, teacher.
  • 30 desks to tick, colour or stick on.

Tips

  • Seat students who need support near the front.
  • Change the plan each term to mix groups.
  • Mark empty desks with a dash in the list.

Made to fit, then printed

Everything on this seating chart can be changed before you print: the title, the students, the colour, the paper size and orientation. The page is drawn on your device and nothing is uploaded. Find more printables.

Frequently asked questions

How do I leave a desk empty?

Type a dash (–) on that line in the class list.

Can I remove the atifo.app line at the bottom?

Yes. Switch off “Show atifo.app credit” in the Look section and the PDF has no branding at all.

Can I change the students?

Yes. Type your own, one per line, and the page updates as you type. Leave a line empty to remove it.

Can I fill in the seating chart on my phone or tablet?

Yes. Switch on “Fillable PDF” before downloading and the PDF gets typing boxes and tick boxes you can use in most PDF apps. Or print it and use a pen.

What paper size should I print on?

Choose A4 or US Letter before downloading, and print at 100% or “Actual size”. Portrait and landscape layouts are both available.
