Where 50 KB limits show up

Exam registrations, recruitment portals and scholarship forms often ask for supporting documents under 50 KB: a caste or income certificate, a domicile certificate, a degree, or an ID card. These are usually single-page scans, and phone scans of them are often 1–5 MB, so they need a big reduction without losing the details an official will check.

Reduce PDF size to 50 KB for portal uploads.

Getting a clear 50 KB certificate

  • Scan flat and bright. Even light and a dark background around the page give cleaner edges and smaller files.
  • Keep colour if it matters. Seals, stamps and signatures are often in blue or red. Atifo keeps colour unless you switch on black & white.
  • One document per file. Each certificate gets the full 50 KB budget. If the form needs several in one PDF, merge them first and expect to use black & white.

What Atifo does for you

The original file isn’t changed. Atifo first tries lossless compression, which is often enough for digital certificates downloaded from official portals. For scans, it searches for the highest resolution that still lands under 50 KB, aiming slightly below the limit so the upload never fails by a few bytes.

Before you upload

Zoom into the certificate number, your name and the issue date on the comparison view. If anything is hard to read, try again with black & white switched on. It often allows a higher resolution within the same 50 KB.

Frequently asked questions

How many scanned pages fit in 50 KB?

Typically one or two pages at a clear quality, or two to three in black & white. Plain text PDFs from a word processor often fit many pages without any quality loss.

My certificate has a colour seal. Will it survive?

Yes, colour is kept unless you switch on black & white. Seals and signatures stay recognisable; very fine background patterns may soften.

Is 50 KB measured the same way the form measures it?

Atifo counts 50 KB as 50,000 bytes, slightly stricter than forms that use 51,200 bytes, so the file passes either way.

Can I do this on my phone?

Yes. It runs in your mobile browser and processes the file on your phone, so it works even on a slow connection once the page has loaded.
