The everyday upload limit
100 KB is one of the most common limits on online application forms: job portals, university admissions, scholarship and government services. It’s enough for a clear one- or two-page scan, or a long document exported from a word processor, but phone scans and photo-heavy PDFs usually need shrinking to get there.
Reduce a PDF to 100 KB: a PDF size of 100 KB or a PDF under 100 KB.
Typical results
- Text PDFs (CVs, letters, exported forms) usually fit losslessly, keeping text selectable and links clickable.
- Single-page scans compress comfortably, with plenty of sharpness left for small print.
- Three to five scanned pages usually fit at a readable quality; more pages may need black & white.
Why the result is just under 100 KB
Atifo deliberately aims a little under your limit. Websites count kilobytes in different ways, as 1,000 or 1,024 bytes, so Atifo uses the stricter 1,000. A result like 96 KB passes every check without wasting quality.
Make the most of the space
If the document includes pages the form doesn’t need, like instructions or blank backs, delete them first. Every page you remove leaves more of the 100 KB for the pages that matter, so they come out sharper.
Done on your device
Your application documents stay private. Compression happens in your browser, so nothing is uploaded, and you can use it on a phone even on a weak connection once the page has loaded.

Frequently asked questions
How many pages can I fit under 100 KB?
Scans usually fit three to five pages clearly, and more in black & white. Documents exported from Word or Google Docs often fit dozens of pages losslessly.
Will the text still be selectable?
If lossless compression reaches 100 KB, yes. If pages have to be turned into images to get there, the text becomes part of the picture; the result screen tells you which happened.
Why is my file 97.6 KB instead of 100 KB?
Atifo aims slightly under the limit to leave a safety margin, so the upload never fails by a few bytes. Being a little under the limit doesn’t affect quality noticeably.
My PDF is already under 100 KB. Should I still compress it?
Only if the form is still rejecting it. Atifo tells you when a file is already under the target, and keeps the original if compressing wouldn’t help.
