Download the workbook as .xlsx, or the current sheet as .csv.

Spreadsheets without Excel

Opening an .xlsx on a phone, a shared computer or a Chromebook often means installing an app or uploading the file to an online service. Atifo opens it right in the page, so you can check figures, fix a typo, add a row or update a price list and save a proper Excel file again.

An XLSX editor online and Excel viewer: open an Excel file online and edit XLSX free on your phone.

How editing works

  • Tap a cell to select it, and tap it again (or press Enter) to edit.
  • Type straight away on a computer to replace a cell; F2 edits what’s already there.
  • The formula bar shows the selected cell’s exact contents, including formulas like =SUM(B2:B10).
  • Paste a block copied from Excel or Google Sheets to fill many cells at once.
  • Toolbar buttons insert and delete rows and columns, make text bold, and sort by the selected column (row 1 stays as the header).
  • Sheet tabs switch, add, rename and delete sheets.

Numbers you type become real numbers. “12.5%” becomes a percentage, “₹1,250” becomes a currency amount, and dates like 2026-10-07 become dates. Values starting with 0, such as PIN codes, stay as text.

Formatting and formulas

For .xlsx files, fonts, fills, number formats, column widths, merged cells and formulas are kept when you save. The editor shows each formula’s last calculated value; when you open the saved file in Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice, everything is recalculated automatically. Old .xls and .ods files are imported as values into a new workbook.

Private and fast

Only the cells you can see are drawn, so large sheets scroll smoothly, and the file never leaves your device. To start a new sheet, use Create a spreadsheet.

Frequently asked questions

Is the formatting of my Excel file kept?

For .xlsx files, yes: fonts, colours, number formats, column widths, merged cells and formulas are kept when you save. Old .xls and .ods files are imported as values and saved as a new .xlsx.

Do formulas work?

Existing formulas are kept, and you can type new ones like =SUM(B2:B10). Results are recalculated when you open the saved file in Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice; the editor shows the last calculated values.

Can I paste data from Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. Copy a block of cells and paste it into the grid; it fills the cells starting from the one you selected.

How large a file can I edit?

Up to 25 MB. Only the visible cells are drawn, so sheets with tens of thousands of rows scroll smoothly.
