About these mean median mode worksheets

The mean is the total divided by how many values; the median is the middle value when sorted (the average of the two middle values for an even count); the mode is the most common value; the range is largest minus smallest. Each set is new, and most have a mode; a few have two.

Settings you can change

Each sheet has 8 questions by default (from 2 to 16), a name, date and score line, and an answer key on a separate page. Best for grades 5–8 (ages 10–14).

  • Numbers in each set: 5, 7, 9, 10.
  • Values up to: 10, 20, 50, 100.

Teaching tips

  • Sort the numbers first; it helps with median, mode and range.
  • Means can be decimals.
  • Talk about which average best describes the data.

New questions every time

The questions are written by rules on your device, not picked from a fixed sheet, so every tap of “New worksheet” gives a different set. Nothing is uploaded. Explore all math worksheets.

Frequently asked questions

What if two numbers are most common?

Then there are two modes, and the answer key lists both.

Can I make a different mean median mode worksheet for each student?

Yes. Tap “New worksheet” for a fresh set of questions with the same settings. Each sheet has its own answer key, so you can hand out different versions.

Is it really free to print?

Yes. There’s no signup and no limit. The worksheets are generated on your device, and you can use them at home or in class.

What is the worksheet code?

Every sheet prints a short code. Typing the same code with the same settings rebuilds exactly the same questions, so you can reprint a sheet later or share the code with another teacher.

Does every worksheet come with an answer key?

Yes. The answers print on a separate page at the end of the PDF. Switch “Answer key” off if you only want the questions.
