About these decimal division worksheets
Dividing a decimal by a whole number works like ordinary division with the point carried straight up into the answer. To divide by a decimal, multiply both numbers by 10 or 100 until the divisor is whole: 3.6 ÷ 0.4 becomes 36 ÷ 4. Every question divides exactly.
Settings you can change
Each sheet has 20 questions by default (from 6 to 40), a name, date and score line, and an answer key on a separate page. Best for grades 5–7 (ages 10–13).
- Decimal places: Tenths, Hundredths, Thousandths.
- Number size: Under 10, Under 100, Under 1,000.
Teaching tips
- Move the point in both numbers by the same number of places.
- Write the point in the answer before dividing.
- Check by multiplying back.
