About these temperature worksheets
Reading a thermometer is reading a scale, including negative values below zero. Each thermometer is drawn with labelled marks every 10 or 20 degrees. Conversion questions use °F = °C × 9/5 + 32, rounded to whole degrees, and change questions practise temperatures rising and falling.
Settings you can change
Each sheet has 8 questions by default (from 4 to 24), a name, date and score line, and an answer key on a separate page. Best for grades 2–6 (ages 7–12).
- Task: Read the thermometer, Convert °C and °F, Temperature changes.
- Scale: Celsius, Fahrenheit.
Teaching tips
- Work out what each small mark is worth first.
- Remember water freezes at 0°C (32°F) and boils at 100°C (212°F).
- Body temperature is about 37°C (98.6°F).
New questions every time
The questions are written by rules on your device, not picked from a fixed sheet, so every tap of “New worksheet” gives a different set. Nothing is uploaded. Explore all math worksheets.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert Celsius to Fahrenheit?
Multiply by 9, divide by 5, then add 32. For example, 20°C × 9 ÷ 5 + 32 = 68°F.
Does every worksheet come with an answer key?
Yes. The answers print on a separate page at the end of the PDF. Switch “Answer key” off if you only want the questions.
Can I make a different temperature worksheet for each student?
Yes. Tap “New worksheet” for a fresh set of questions with the same settings. Each sheet has its own answer key, so you can hand out different versions.
What is the worksheet code?
Every sheet prints a short code. Typing the same code with the same settings rebuilds exactly the same questions, so you can reprint a sheet later or share the code with another teacher.
Which grades are these worksheets for?
Grades 2–6 (ages 7–12), depending on the settings you choose. Switch on “Big print” for younger children.
