About these time worksheets
Telling time is learned in steps: o’clock, half past, quarter past and to, five-minute intervals, then to the minute. Choose the step and whether children read clocks or draw the hands. The elapsed time option asks how much time passes between two times.
Clock faces are drawn with minute marks and an hour hand that moves between numbers, as on a real clock.
Settings you can change
Each sheet has 12 questions by default (from 4 to 24), a name, date and score line, and an answer key on a separate page. Best for grades 1–4 (ages 6–10).
- Task: Read the clock, Draw the hands, Elapsed time.
- Times to: O’clock, Half past, Quarter hours, 5 minutes, 1 minute.
Teaching tips
- Point out the hour hand is short and the minute hand long.
- Practise counting by 5s around the clock.
- Use a real clock alongside the sheet.
New questions every time
The questions are written by rules on your device, not picked from a fixed sheet, so every tap of “New worksheet” gives a different set. Nothing is uploaded. Explore all math worksheets.
Frequently asked questions
Does the hour hand move between numbers?
Yes. At 2:30 the hour hand points halfway between 2 and 3, just like a real clock.
What is the worksheet code?
Every sheet prints a short code. Typing the same code with the same settings rebuilds exactly the same questions, so you can reprint a sheet later or share the code with another teacher.
Is it really free to print?
Yes. There’s no signup and no limit. The worksheets are generated on your device, and you can use them at home or in class.
Can I make a different time worksheet for each student?
Yes. Tap “New worksheet” for a fresh set of questions with the same settings. Each sheet has its own answer key, so you can hand out different versions.
Which grades are these worksheets for?
Grades 1–4 (ages 6–10), depending on the settings you choose. Switch on “Big print” for younger children.
