About this work order form

A work order authorises a job and records how it was done. Electricians, plumbers, AC and appliance technicians, maintenance teams and repair shops use it to describe the work, assign a technician, log labour hours and parts used, and get the customer’s signature on completion.

Once the job is signed off, turn the labour and parts into an invoice with the invoice generator.

What’s on the work order form

The template has 4 sections and 16 questions. Every one can be renamed, moved or deleted.

• Order details: Work order no.; Date; Customer or requester; Phone; Job location; Priority (choose one: Low, Normal, High, Emergency)
• Job: Work requested; Assigned to; Scheduled date
• Labour and parts: Labour table (Technician, Date, Hours, Rate); Parts table (Part, Part no., Qty, Unit cost)
• Completion: Work performed; Status (choose one: Completed, Partly completed, Parts on order, Could not complete); Completion date; Technician signature with date; Customer signature with date

Tips

• Describe the fault exactly as the customer reported it, then add your diagnosis.
• Record serial numbers of parts replaced.
• Get the customer to sign before you leave the site.

Four ways to save it
