How to extract pages from a PDF
- 1
Choose the PDF that has the pages you need.
- 2
Tap the page thumbnails you want to keep, or type pages like 1-3, 7.
- 3
Tap “Extract pages” and download your new PDF.
Pick pages visually
Extracting pages is about choosing. Every page of your PDF appears as a thumbnail, so you can see exactly what you’re taking: the signed page of a contract, the marksheet from a long application, or a single chart from a report. Tap pages to select them, and tap again to unselect.
It’s the quickest way to select pages from a PDF and save only those as a new file.
On a computer, click one page and Shift-click another to select everything in between. Buttons for All, Odd and Even help with documents scanned double-sided.
Or type the page numbers
If you already know the pages, type them: 3, 7-9, 15. The thumbnails update to match, and selecting thumbnails updates the text. If a number doesn’t exist in the file, you’ll be told straight away.
One clean new PDF
The pages you choose are saved, in their original order, as a new PDF named after your file. Your original document is never changed. Because pages are copied rather than re-rendered, text stays searchable and selectable and images keep their quality.
Good to know
- Need the pages as separate files instead? Use Split PDF.
- Want to remove a few pages and keep the rest? Delete pages is quicker.
- Everything runs in your browser and works on a slow connection once the page has loaded.
Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between Extract pages and Split PDF?
Extract pages puts the pages you choose into one new PDF. Split PDF breaks a document into several separate files.
Can I select pages by typing numbers?
Yes. Type pages and ranges such as “2, 4-6” and the thumbnails update to match. Tapping thumbnails updates the text box too.
Is the original PDF changed?
No. Your original file is never modified. The extracted pages are saved as a new PDF named after the original.
In what order are the pages saved?
Pages keep the order they have in the original document. To rearrange them, use Organize PDF on the new file.
Can I extract pages from a large PDF on my phone?
Yes. Files up to 100 MB are supported, and thumbnails load as you scroll so even long documents stay responsive.
