About this lesson plan template
A lesson plan template walks through the parts of a well-structured lesson: what students will learn, the materials, how you’ll hook them, model the skill, guide practice, let them practise independently and check understanding, plus how you’ll support and stretch different learners.
Every section heading is editable, so the template fits formats like 5E, gradual release (“I do, we do, you do”) or your school’s own.
What’s on the page
- A header with subject, class, date, topic, duration, teacher.
- Labelled boxes for your sections.
Tips
- Write the objective as “Students will be able to…”.
- Decide how you’ll check understanding before planning activities.
- Spend two minutes on the reflection right after teaching.
Made to fit, then printed
Everything on this lesson plan template can be changed before you print: the title, the sections, the colour, the paper size and orientation. The page is drawn on your device and nothing is uploaded. Find more printables.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use it for B.Ed or teacher training lesson plans?
Yes. Rename the sections to match your college’s format, such as previous knowledge, presentation, recapitulation and homework.
Can I remove the atifo.app line at the bottom?
Yes. Switch off “Show atifo.app credit” in the Look section and the PDF has no branding at all.
Will it print well in black and white?
Yes. The layout uses light fills and clear lines that print cleanly in grey. Choose the “Grey” colour to save colour ink entirely.
What paper size should I print on?
Choose A4 or US Letter before downloading, and print at 100% or “Actual size”. Portrait and landscape layouts are both available.
Can I fill in the lesson plan template on my phone or tablet?
Yes. Switch on “Fillable PDF” before downloading and the PDF gets typing boxes and tick boxes you can use in most PDF apps. Or print it and use a pen.
