About these mixed operations worksheets
Mixed operations sheets check that children read the sign before they calculate, which is a common source of mistakes once all four operations are known. Choose easy (adding and subtracting to 20), medium (all four to 100) or hard (bigger numbers), or limit the sheet to two operations.
They make good warm-ups, revision and timed fluency checks.
Settings you can change
Each sheet has 30 questions by default (from 6 to 60), a name, date and score line, and an answer key on a separate page. Best for grades 2–5 (ages 7–11).
- Level: Easy (+ and − to 20), Medium (+ − × ÷ to 100), Hard (bigger numbers).
- Operations: + − × ÷, + and − only, × and ÷ only.
Teaching tips
- Ask children to circle the sign in each question first.
- Use the same sheet twice a week apart and compare times.
- Discuss which questions were quickest and why.
New questions every time
The questions are written by rules on your device, not picked from a fixed sheet, so every tap of “New worksheet” gives a different set. Nothing is uploaded. Explore all math worksheets.
Frequently asked questions
Are the division questions exact?
Yes. Mixed sheets only use divisions that come out exactly, so there are no remainders.
Is it really free to print?
Yes. There’s no signup and no limit. The worksheets are generated on your device, and you can use them at home or in class.
Does every worksheet come with an answer key?
Yes. The answers print on a separate page at the end of the PDF. Switch “Answer key” off if you only want the questions.
Can I make a different mixed operations worksheet for each student?
Yes. Tap “New worksheet” for a fresh set of questions with the same settings. Each sheet has its own answer key, so you can hand out different versions.
What is the worksheet code?
Every sheet prints a short code. Typing the same code with the same settings rebuilds exactly the same questions, so you can reprint a sheet later or share the code with another teacher.
