About these counting worksheets
Counting objects one by one, and knowing the last number said is the total, is a foundation skill. Each box shows a group of simple pictures (apples, stars, hearts, flowers, balloons) for children to count and write the total.
Choose counts up to 5, 10 or 20 as children grow in confidence.
Settings you can change
Each sheet has 12 questions by default (from 4 to 24), a name, date and score line, and an answer key on a separate page. Best for pre-K to kindergarten (ages 3–6).
- Count up to: 5, 10, 20.
Teaching tips
- Encourage children to tick or touch each picture as they count.
- Ask “How many?” again after counting to check they know the total.
- Count real objects too: buttons, blocks, spoons.
New questions every time
The questions are written by rules on your device, not picked from a fixed sheet, so every tap of “New worksheet” gives a different set. Nothing is uploaded. Explore all math worksheets.

Which grades are these worksheets for?
Pre-K to kindergarten (ages 3–6), depending on the settings you choose. Switch on “Big print” for younger children.
