About these ratio worksheets

A ratio compares quantities, like 3 cups of flour to 2 cups of sugar. Simplify ratios by dividing both parts by a common factor, find equivalent ratios by multiplying, and share an amount in a ratio by dividing it into total parts first.

Settings you can change

Each sheet has 20 questions by default (from 6 to 40), a name, date and score line, and an answer key on a separate page. Best for grades 6–8 (ages 11–14).

  • Type: Simplify ratios, Share in a ratio, Equivalent ratios.

Teaching tips

  • Order matters: 3 : 2 is not 2 : 3.
  • To share in a ratio, add the parts, divide, then multiply.
  • Use recipes to make ratios real.

New questions every time

The questions are written by rules on your device, not picked from a fixed sheet, so every tap of “New worksheet” gives a different set. Nothing is uploaded. Explore all math worksheets.

Frequently asked questions

How do I share 60 in the ratio 2 : 3?

There are 5 parts, so each part is 60 ÷ 5 = 12. The shares are 2 × 12 = 24 and 3 × 12 = 36.

Does every worksheet come with an answer key?

Yes. The answers print on a separate page at the end of the PDF. Switch “Answer key” off if you only want the questions.

What is the worksheet code?

Every sheet prints a short code. Typing the same code with the same settings rebuilds exactly the same questions, so you can reprint a sheet later or share the code with another teacher.

Is it really free to print?

Yes. There’s no signup and no limit. The worksheets are generated on your device, and you can use them at home or in class.

Can I make a different ratio worksheet for each student?

Yes. Tap “New worksheet” for a fresh set of questions with the same settings. Each sheet has its own answer key, so you can hand out different versions.
