About these percentages worksheets

Percent means “out of 100”. These worksheets cover the three everyday percentage questions: finding a percent of an amount (25% of 80), finding what percent one number is of another (15 is what percent of 60?), and increasing or decreasing by a percentage, as with discounts and price rises.

Settings you can change

Each sheet has 20 questions by default (from 6 to 40), a name, date and score line, and an answer key on a separate page. Best for grades 5–8 (ages 10–14).

  • Type: Percent of a number, What percent is…?, Increase and decrease, Mixed.

Teaching tips

  • Find 10% by dividing by 10, then build up other percentages.
  • For “what percent”, divide the part by the whole and multiply by 100.
  • Check real answers with the percentage calculator.

New questions every time

The questions are written by rules on your device, not picked from a fixed sheet, so every tap of “New worksheet” gives a different set. Nothing is uploaded. Explore all math worksheets.

Frequently asked questions

Do answers have decimals?

Sometimes, for example 12.5% of 40 = 5, but 15% of 150 = 22.5. The key shows exact values.

Does every worksheet come with an answer key?

Yes. The answers print on a separate page at the end of the PDF. Switch “Answer key” off if you only want the questions.

Is it really free to print?

Yes. There’s no signup and no limit. The worksheets are generated on your device, and you can use them at home or in class.

Which grades are these worksheets for?

Grades 5–8 (ages 10–14), depending on the settings you choose. Switch on “Big print” for younger children.

What is the worksheet code?

Every sheet prints a short code. Typing the same code with the same settings rebuilds exactly the same questions, so you can reprint a sheet later or share the code with another teacher.
