About these fraction division worksheets
To divide by a fraction, multiply by its reciprocal: keep the first fraction, change ÷ to ×, and flip the second fraction. Whole numbers are written over 1 and mixed numbers converted to improper fractions first. Every answer is simplified.
Settings you can change
Each sheet has 20 questions by default (from 6 to 40), a name, date and score line, and an answer key on a separate page. Best for grades 5–8 (ages 10–14).

Teaching tips
- Only flip the second fraction.
- Ask “How many 1/4s are in 3?” to build meaning.
- Estimate: dividing by a fraction less than 1 makes the answer bigger.

Frequently asked questions
Why do we flip the second fraction?
Dividing by a number is the same as multiplying by its reciprocal; flipping the fraction gives that reciprocal.
Is it really free to print?
Yes. There’s no signup and no limit. The worksheets are generated on your device, and you can use them at home or in class.
Does every worksheet come with an answer key?
Yes. The answers print on a separate page at the end of the PDF. Switch “Answer key” off if you only want the questions.
Can I make a different fraction division worksheet for each student?
