Why copied text breaks into lines
Copy a paragraph from a PDF, an old email or a terminal, and every line ends where it did on the original page. Pasted into a document or form, it turns into a jagged column of short lines. Removing the breaks by hand is slow and easy to get wrong.

Three ways to join lines
- Keep paragraphs joins the lines inside each paragraph and keeps the blank lines between paragraphs. This is the right choice for most text from PDFs.
- All → space turns every line break into a space, giving one continuous block.
- Remove all deletes breaks without adding spaces, which is useful for codes, IDs or data split across lines.
Extra clean-up
“Remove extra spaces” turns double spaces and tabs into single spaces and trims each line. “Rejoin hyphenated words” fixes words that were split across lines in typeset documents, so “informa-” followed by “tion” becomes “information” again, while real hyphenated words in the middle of a line are left untouched.

Why does text copied from a PDF have line breaks everywhere?
PDFs store text as positioned lines, not flowing paragraphs. When you copy it, each line ends with a break. This tool joins those lines back into normal sentences.
Will my paragraphs be merged into one block?
Not with “Keep paragraphs” selected. Lines are joined within each paragraph, and the blank lines between paragraphs are kept.
What does “Rejoin hyphenated words” do?
When a word was split across two lines with a hyphen, like “docu-” and “ment”, it becomes “document” again. Hyphenated words in the middle of a line are not changed.
Is there a size limit?
You can paste or open text files of up to 5 MB, which is a few thousand pages of plain text.
