A resume that gets read
Recruiters spend seconds on a first look, and many companies scan resumes with applicant tracking systems (ATS) before a person sees them. A clean structure, standard headings and real text matter more than fancy graphics. Atifo’s layouts are designed for both: easy to skim, and easy for software to parse.
A free resume maker and CV maker: create a resume online and download it in resume format PDF.
Two layouts
- Classic is a single, centred column, the safest choice for any job, especially large companies and government applications.
- Modern adds a colour header and an optional photo, popular in India, the Middle East and Europe, and for creative roles.
Pick an accent colour to match your style. Both layouts use selectable text, so the PDF stays small and can be searched and read by machines.
Write strong points
Put each achievement on its own line and start with an action verb: led, built, reduced, increased, launched. Add numbers wherever you can: “Reduced report time from 3 days to 4 hours” is far more convincing than “Responsible for reports”. List your most recent job first, and keep the summary to two or three sentences tailored to the role you want.
Keep it current
Switch on “Remember on this device” and your resume stays saved in this browser, ready to update for the next application. Nothing is uploaded. If a portal limits file size, run the PDF through Compress PDF. Need a photo for an application form? Try the passport photo maker.
Frequently asked questions
Is the resume ATS-friendly?
Yes. Both layouts use real, selectable text in a clear order with standard section names (Experience, Education, Skills), which applicant tracking systems read reliably.
Should I add a photo?
It depends on the country. In India, the Middle East and much of Europe, photos are common; in the US, UK and Canada they’re usually left out. The Modern layout lets you add one.
How long should my resume be?
One page for students and up to about five years of experience; two pages is fine beyond that. The preview shows how many pages you’re using.
Can I edit my resume later?
Switch on “Remember on this device” and your resume stays in this browser for next time. It’s never uploaded.
