How to create a QR code

  1. 1

Choose what the code should open: a link, Wi-Fi, contact, UPI payment and more.

  2. 2

Fill in the details; the QR code updates as you type.

  3. 3

Optional: change colours, dot style, add a logo or a caption.

  4. 4

Download a PNG for screens or an SVG for printing, then test it with your phone camera.

Static codes that never expire

Many QR generators create “dynamic” codes that send every scan through their servers, so they can count scans or change the destination later. That’s also why those codes stop working when a free trial ends. Atifo makes static codes: your link, Wi-Fi details or contact card is written directly into the pattern. The code works for as long as the printed copy exists, with no account, no redirects and no tracking of the people who scan it.

A free QR code generator and QR code maker: create a QR code or make a QR code with a logo.

Nine kinds of code

Links, plain text, Wi-Fi networks, contact cards, UPI payments, WhatsApp chats, emails, phone calls and SMS messages each use the format phone cameras recognise. Pick a type and fill in the fields; the code updates as you type. Open “What’s inside the code” to see the exact content.

Make it yours

Change the colours, choose square, rounded or dot-style modules and corner styles, add a caption like “Scan for the menu”, or put your logo in the middle. Atifo warns you if the colours are too light or too similar for phones to read, and raises the error correction automatically when you add a logo.

Download an SVG for printing: it’s a vector file that stays sharp at any size. Use the PNG for documents, slides and messages. Keep a white border around the code, and always scan the final printed version with a couple of different phones before printing hundreds.

Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. Atifo makes static QR codes: the content is stored inside the code itself, not on our servers. They work forever and nobody can switch them off or redirect them.

Can I track how many people scan my code?

No, and that’s deliberate. Tracking needs a “dynamic” code that sends every scan through someone’s server. Atifo’s codes go straight to your content, so scans are private.

Will my QR code still scan with a logo?

Yes. When you add a logo, Atifo switches to the highest error correction, which lets phones rebuild up to 30% of the code. Always test before printing.

PNG or SVG: which should I download?

PNG for WhatsApp, websites and documents. SVG for printing on posters, menus and packaging, because it stays sharp at any size.

How small can I print a QR code?

A good rule is at least 2 × 2 cm, and about one tenth of the scanning distance (a code read from 1 metre away should be about 10 cm wide). Simpler content makes a code that scans more easily when small.
