Sign without printing
Rental agreements, consent forms, offer letters, school permission slips: many documents still ask for a signature. Instead of printing, signing and scanning, you can sign the PDF directly on your phone or computer in under a minute.
Add a signature to a PDF by drawing, typing or uploading it. This PDF signature works like a quick e-sign PDF tool to fill and sign a PDF; note that it is a visual signature, not a certificate-based digital signature on a PDF.
Three ways to create your signature
- Draw with your finger, a stylus or a mouse. Strokes are smoothed as you write, and you can change ink colour and thickness, undo, or clear.
- Type your name and pick one of four handwriting styles.
- Upload a photo of your signature on paper. Atifo removes the white background automatically so only the ink appears on the document.
Place it exactly where it belongs
Tap the page where the signature goes, then drag it into position and use the corner handle to resize it. Need it on several pages, like initials on every page of a contract? Select it and choose Copy to all pages. You can also add today’s date or a line of text, such as your printed name.
Remember it, or don’t
If you sign often, turn on Remember my signature on this device. It is kept only in this browser, never sent anywhere, and Forget saved signature removes it instantly. If you leave it off, nothing is stored.
Know what kind of signature this is
This is a visual signature, the digital version of signing a printout. It isn’t a certified digital signature backed by a certificate authority. For everyday documents that is usually all that’s needed, but some legal, financial or government processes require a certified e-signature, so check if you’re unsure.
Private by design
Your document and signature are processed on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a legally binding digital signature?
It is a visual signature: an image of your signature placed on the page, like signing a printout. It isn’t a certified digital signature with a cryptographic certificate, so check what your recipient or local law requires for important contracts.
Can I sign on more than one page?
Yes. Move between pages and tap to place your signature on each one, or select it and use “Copy to all pages” to add it everywhere at once.
Can I use a photo of my real signature?
Yes. Choose “Upload” and pick a photo or scan. Atifo removes the white paper background so only the ink is placed on the document.
Is my signature saved anywhere?
Only if you choose “Remember my signature on this device”. It is then stored in this browser only, never uploaded, and you can remove it with “Forget saved signature”.
Can I add the date or my name next to the signature?
Yes. Use “Add date” for today’s date, or “Add text” for anything else, such as your printed name or initials.
