About this student transfer form

When a student moves to another school, the current school needs a written request so it can release records, issue a transfer certificate (TC) and confirm that fees, library books and equipment are cleared. The receiving school often needs the same details.

This template covers both schools, the reason for the transfer, which records to send and a clearance checklist for the school office.

What is a transfer certificate?

In India and some other countries, a TC (also called a school leaving certificate) is issued by the old school and required for admission to a new one.

Is a transfer the same as a withdrawal?

A transfer moves the student to another named school. A withdrawal ends enrollment, for example for home schooling or moving abroad.

Can I change the questions on the student transfer form?
