About these decimal worksheets

Decimals extend place value to the right of the decimal point: tenths, hundredths, thousandths. These worksheets practise the value of a digit, writing decimals from words (“3 and 45 hundredths”), and converting tenths and hundredths to decimals.

Settings you can change

Each sheet has 20 questions by default (from 6 to 40), a name, date and score line, and an answer key on a separate page. Best for grades 4–6 (ages 9–12).

  • Type: Place value of a digit, Words to decimals, Tenths and hundredths as decimals.
  • Decimal places: Tenths, Hundredths, Thousandths.

Teaching tips

  • Use money: ₹4.75 is 4 rupees and 75 paise (hundredths).
  • Read 0.45 as “forty-five hundredths”, not “point forty-five”.
  • Line up the decimal point in a place value chart.

New questions every time

The questions are written by rules on your device, not picked from a fixed sheet, so every tap of “New worksheet” gives a different set. Nothing is uploaded. Explore all math worksheets.

Frequently asked questions

Is 0.5 bigger than 0.45?

Yes. 0.5 is 50 hundredths, which is more than 45 hundredths. Comparing decimals worksheets practise exactly this.

What is the worksheet code?

Every sheet prints a short code. Typing the same code with the same settings rebuilds exactly the same questions, so you can reprint a sheet later or share the code with another teacher.

Is it really free to print?

Yes. There’s no signup and no limit. The worksheets are generated on your device, and you can use them at home or in class.

Can I make a different decimal worksheet for each student?

Yes. Tap “New worksheet” for a fresh set of questions with the same settings. Each sheet has its own answer key, so you can hand out different versions.

Which grades are these worksheets for?

Grades 4–6 (ages 9–12), depending on the settings you choose. Switch on “Big print” for younger children.
