Three ways to resize

  • Pixels sets an exact width and height. With the link button on, typing one number fills in the other, so the image keeps its shape.
  • Percent scales everything by the same amount: 50% halves both sides and makes the file roughly four times smaller.
  • Social gives ready-made dimensions for square, portrait and story posts, video thumbnails, page covers, banners and profile pictures.

When the shape changes

A 4:3 photo doesn’t naturally fit a 1:1 square. Choose how to handle it:

  • Crop to fill trims the edges evenly so the frame is completely filled. Best for social posts.
  • Fit + border shows the whole image and adds bars in a colour you choose.
  • Stretch forces the exact size and distorts the picture. Use it only when that doesn’t matter.

Quality notes

Shrinking keeps images sharp because Atifo scales down in several steps instead of one big jump. Enlarging can’t add detail that wasn’t captured, so upscaled photos look softer. SVG files are the exception: they’re drawn straight at the new size and stay crisp.

Batch resizing

Add up to 50 images. With proportions locked, each keeps its own shape and fits inside your width and height, which is ideal for preparing a set of product photos or a photo gallery.

Frequently asked questions

Will resizing reduce quality?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp: Atifo scales down in steps for clean edges. Making it larger can’t add detail that isn’t there, so enlarged images look softer.

How do I keep the proportions?

Leave the link button between Width and Height switched on. Type one number and the other updates automatically. With several images, each keeps its own shape and fits inside the size you set.

What do “Crop to fill” and “Fit + border” mean?

When the new shape differs from the photo, Crop to fill trims the edges so the image fills the frame, and Fit + border shows the whole image with coloured bars. Stretch squeezes it to fit exactly.

Does it work with SVG files?

Yes. SVGs are drawn directly at the new size, so they stay perfectly sharp, and saved as PNG, JPG or WebP.
