Hide what shouldn’t be shared
Screenshots and photos often contain more than you mean to share: other people’s faces, a car’s number plate, your home address on a parcel, an order number, or a message preview. Draw a box over each detail and Atifo covers it before you post or send the image.
Blur part of an image, blur a face in a photo, pixelate an image or censor an image before you post it.
Pixelate or blur
- Pixelate turns the area into large squares. At high strength it’s the most reliable way to hide text and numbers.
- Blur looks smoother and suits faces and backgrounds where you want a softer effect.
You can change the effect and strength of each box after drawing it: tap a box to select it, then adjust the controls. The preview shows the real result, made with the same code as the file you download.
Safe by design
The covered pixels are replaced in the saved image, so the hidden detail isn’t stored anywhere inside the new file. Your original photo on your device isn’t changed. For the most sensitive information, such as passwords, card numbers or one-time codes, use the strongest pixelation, or crop the area out entirely.
Before you share
Photos can also reveal where they were taken through hidden GPS data. Run them through Remove EXIF data as a final step.
Frequently asked questions
Is blur or pixelate safer for hiding text?
Use Pixelate at a high strength. Light blur on large text can sometimes be guessed. For passwords or card numbers, the strongest pixelation is safest, and cropping the detail out entirely is safest of all.
Can I blur several areas?
Yes. Draw as many boxes as you like. Tap a box to select it, drag it to move it, change its effect, or remove it.
Can I blur the whole image?
Yes. Tap “Whole image” to cover everything, then choose the effect and strength.
Can someone undo the blur?
No. The hidden area is replaced with new pixels in the saved file, and the original detail isn’t stored anywhere in it. Your original photo on your device is not changed.
