Frequently asked questions
Is this list complete?
It lists items commonly used, but customs vary by family and region. Add or remove items to match your family’s tradition.
What happens on each day of Chhath?
Day 1 is Nahay Khay (a holy bath and a simple meal), day 2 Kharna (a day-long fast broken in the evening), day 3 Sandhya Arghya (offerings to the setting sun) and day 4 Usha Arghya (offerings to the rising sun).
Can I print it in Hindi?
Yes. Open the Hindi version of this page.
Which paper should I use?
Plain A4 or US Letter paper works. For cards, card stock of about 160–200 gsm folds and stands better; for paint or markers, thicker paper stops colours bleeding through.
