About this printable
A page of friendly prompts with lines to write on: the child’s name and age, something kind they did this year, something they’re proud of, three Christmas wishes, something they’d like to give someone else, and a question for Santa.
The prompts encourage children to think about others as well as their wish list, and the lines are spaced for early writers. Turn on “More writing space” for bigger handwriting.
What’s included
- Dear Santa,: My name is … and I am … years old., This year I was kind when I…, Something I am proud of:, Three things I would love for Christmas:, Something I would like to give to someone else:, A question I want to ask you:, Love from.
Tips
- Change the prompts to suit your child, for example add “My favourite thing about winter”.
- Younger children can draw their wishes in the spaces instead of writing.
- Keep the finished letter as a memory from this year.

Frequently asked questions
What age is this for?
About 4 to 9. Younger children can tell an adult what to write; older ones can write it all themselves.
Can I change the questions?
Yes. Edit the list: each line is a prompt and lines starting with # become headings.
Is there space for a drawing?
Switch on “More writing space” and use a section for a picture, or add a prompt like “Draw your favourite present”.
Which paper should I use?
Plain A4 or US Letter paper works. For cards, card stock of about 160–200 gsm folds and stands better; for paint or markers, thicker paper stops colours bleeding through.
